What book should I read?
We have a list of books we read to apporved what I read? By Silent Spring: Carson Dollhouse By: Ibsen The Crucible by Miller A Death in the family: Agee know why the caged bird sings: Angelou The Plauger by: El Hombre Invisible Camus by: Ellison Black Like Me by: Griffin Darkness at Noon: Koestler Mutiny on the Bounty by: Nordhoff and Hall * Only respond if you read one or more of the books also are any of these scary books? If you could tell me a little about the book he had read to be big.
I have read everything on this list, except Mutiny on the Bounty (Hmm, maybe should check it out...). It's a good list, nice and wide and You Can not go wrong. As for my opinion, my favorite earrings, Long Time between them is a death in the family. It is a wonderful book, sad and deep and lasting. Silent Spring and The Plague (Camus or any other) would in my tastes. I had a hard time with both zero and infinity and Invisible Man. While both are valuable and worth reading I have never reread it. Ibsen and Miller are both surprising and playwrights certainly deserve their place, but sometimes I have trouble reading plays as literature. Black Like Me, while a fascinating account of a social experience, it seems a little out of place in this list. It's a bit funny to read though. I know it Angelou dearly loved by many, but I'm afraid I'm not from the ranks. I think it's surprising most valued and Caged Bird is the only book on this list and I personally can not recommend to anyone. For what it's worth, that's my opinion. I hope you enjoy your choice (s)!

Mutiny on/Bounty 1963 $24.98 Moral equivocation was a common trait among several of Marlon Brando's characters in the early part of his career, and so it makes good theoretical sense that he would play the role of Fletcher Christian, the tormented first mate aboard the British naval vessel Bounty. But in fact the part is an ill fit for the actor, whose British accent is poor and who never looked quite right in period costume,... |

Hurricane (1937) $15.81 The great John Ford directed this rousing 1937 adventure with such invigorating physicality that the movie is never compromised by its cornball plot. It's an island adventure from the old school of tall tales, and the title says it all--the tropical romance between native girl Dorothy Lamour and suntanned hunk Jon Hall is established simply so it can be tested by a meddlesome island governor (Raym... |

Mutiny on the Bounty (1935) (Full Rmst Sub Dol) [Blu-ray] $25.86 The highlight of Mutiny on the Bounty is undoubtedly Charles Laughton's bracingly evil performance as Captain Bligh, a man so mean that he insists on having a dead sailor flogged. Bligh pushes his men beyond physical endurance, slashes their rations for his own profit, and drastically cuts down their frolicking time with scantily clad Tahitians. Finally, the moment everyone has been waiting for ar... |
